my time machine
If I had a
time machine, I would like to travel to the 1930s due to the rich and exciting
convergence of cultural, social, and architectural events of that decade.
During that period, architecture underwent a remarkable transition, with the
influence of the emerging Modernist movement. I could witness significant
architectural milestones, such as the construction of the Empire State Building
in New York, a symbol of architectural innovation and boldness. I could also
witness the influence of visionary architects like Le Corbusier ,Mies van der Rohe and walter Gropius
, whose iconic works helped
redefine modern architecture.
The 1930s
were also a time of experimentation with new materials and construction
techniques, leading to the birth of design and functional masterpieces.
Traveling to that era would provide me with the opportunity to closely observe
the evolution of architecture and its impact on society. Also , the 1930s were
a golden age for music, with the emergence of jazz, swing, and blues. It would
be incredible to experience the lively jazz clubs, iconic performances, and the
legendary artists of that era.
Overall,
this journey would allow me to be part of one of the most significant
architectural and musical movements in history. However, I would depart from
this decade before 1939 for obvious reasons.
